Industry and RTOs working in partnership

Ian will look at changing workplace skill demands and the industry relevance of training, as well as common RTO challenges. He will provide insights into rethinking the model of engagement between industry and RTOs. He will showcase recent PwC’s Skills for Australia work to support industries to upskill and reskill, particularly on transferable skills, and recent interpretation and contextualisation guides that help unpack the industry training product we support.

Speaker Biography

Ian has over 20 years’ experience advising on significant and highly complex problems across both the UK and Australia. This has involved major transformation around the upskilling and reskilling of workforces required by the implementation of major change programs. He has led diverse projects in all education sectors: secondary school, VET and Higher Education. Ian recently completed a Department of Social Services pilot aimed at supporting mature workers in gaining meaningful sustainable employment. He joined PwC’s Skills for Australia earlier this year to help drive skill reform.
